Need a nutritious daily mix, a hay topper or a fun treat your pets can forage for and gnaw on? Our range has you covered.

  • Hamster food and gerbil food: A good quality daily mix is the foundation of any hamster or gerbil's diet. Mr Johnson's Supreme Hamster and Gerbil Mix is a popular, well-balanced staple that combines seeds, grains and other ingredients to reflect their natural foraging diet.
  • Rat food and treats: Rats are curious, intelligent omnivores that benefit from variety and enrichment at mealtimes. Little One Sticks, available in berries, puffed rice and nuts, and fruit and nut varieties, are perfect for rats, as well as hamsters, mice and gerbils, thanks to their mix of natural ingredients that they can grip and gnaw on.
  • Hay and natural foraging food: Hay is an important part of life for many small pets, providing both dietary fibre and bedding. Natures Own Timothy Rich Hay with Mixed Flowers is a fantastic option that encourages natural foraging and nesting behaviour.

Rodent food FAQs

What should I feed my hamster?

Hamsters thrive on a good-quality seed and grain mix, supplemented with small amounts of fresh fruit and vegetables. Crunchy treats like seed bells and fruity sticks are also great for keeping their teeth in good condition.

What do rats eat?

Rats are omnivores and enjoy a varied diet. A specially formulated rat food or a balanced complementary mix works well as their main diet, but you can also add in small amounts of fresh vegetables and grains.

Do small rodents need hay?

Hamsters and gerbils benefit from access to hay, particularly as bedding and foraging material. While it isn't a core part of their diet in the same way it is for rabbits or guinea pigs, good quality hay encourages natural behaviour.
